Mexico’s Golden Coast, lined by the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortes, is a touristic destination of international level in which San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas proudly show their championship golf courts, splendid resorts and beautiful beaches, all of them covered by a majestic landscape of mountain ranges and deserts. Renowned as the world’s marlin capital, the Cabo del Este passage is the ideal place for fishing the legendary species of that region. With a typical Mexican flavor, full of magic and tradition, the towns Miraflores, Santiago, Buena Vista, Los Barriles, La Rivera y San Bartolo, also shape the contrasting region of Los Cabos.
Splendid destinations in which ends the Baja California Sur peninsula, are contrasting with each other. San Jose del Cabo is a beautiful, quiet and traditional town that has natural and cultural attractions, as well as exclusive restaurants, art galleries and arts and crafts shops. Cabo San Lucas, with its beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, restaurants, discos, the best golf courts in the country and a large number of recreation sites, is the jewel of the peninsula. Both are a paradise for lovers of good travel.
Cabo del Este is a beautiful tourist corridor with beaches, mountain ranges, piers and an important hotel and services infrastructure that spreads along the Las Palmas Bay. The access to this destination, in which there are also villas and summer homes, is usually done by land or by air, from the Los Barriles airport or from the San Jose del Cabo airport. Its points of reference are: to the north, Punta Pescadero; to the south, Cabo Pulmo; and Los Frailes, a little lower from the Tropic of Cancer.
The main attraction in the zone is sport fishing, already renowned internationally as marlin’s world capital. The region’s fleet covers more than 200 boats, which serve visitors who every year go to its waters in search of the coveted trophies: marlin, goldfish, roosterfish, swordfish and sailfish, being May-October the best season to find them. The fabulous resorts at seaside along this corridor offer all the services for fishing practice and prices vary depending on the season. The newest sport in this region is kayak fishing, one more attraction in this corner of Sea of Cortes.
Windsurf, diving, ski, kayak, hiking, horseback riding, walks and birds and flora watching, among other activities, are part of the fun that this passage offers and covers the beaches of Los Barriles, Buena Vista, Cabo Pulmo, Los Frailes, La Rivera y Punta Colorada.
