In INTEGRAL WELLNESS PROGRAMS we use a holistic and reeducative program; holistic means to perceive objects and specially live beings as a wholeness.
To reach that wholeness, we include and implement several therapeutic trends and modes to access the various underlying problems in our patients’ personality.
Each of these modes has been included in our reeducative program, following our holistic and balance concept, in order to achieve the emergence of what is hidden, and that it could be revealed from different angles and meanings.
Our reeducative intervention methodology allows our patients to travel to one’s inner self, having access and recovering semi-hidden topics, enriching and restructuring our being entirely.
In INTEGRAL WELLNESS PROGRAMS we offer several tools for the reinvention of our lives.idas.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
It is a guidance and therapeutic mode that revolutioned emotional intervention processes, by concentrating in the existing interaction among behavior, thoughts and emotions, during the person’s problematic episodes.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is based on the modification of the thoughts and beliefs systems of the person, and the consequential change in their behavior and conduct patterns.
In practice it is based on the identification of a problem and the various alternative solutions that a person has, his or her ability of objective choice, problems solution and modification and restructuring of the beliefs systems and behavior styles and thoughts.
It is one of the more direct and effective therapeutic modes, being at the same time respectful of the person’s right to choose.
Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt is a German term that roughly means “form”, “wholeness”, “configuration”. The form or configuration of anything is made up of a “shape” and a “background”. For example, at this very moment that you read this text, the letters are the shape and the blank spaces are the background; although this situation could be inverted and what is shape can become background. In INTEGRAL WELLNESS PROGRAMS we try that life’s dynamics could be accepted by our patients in implementing these gestaltic processes.
The phenomenon described by our patients as problematic, is at the level of perception and also involves every aspect of the experience. Thus, some situation that concerns us and at the moment is in the status of shape, could become some other time, when the problem or the need that made it emerge disappear, in less meaningful situations, therefore going from shape to background. This happens specially when a Gestalt is concluded or “closed”; then it leaves our attention and goes to the background, and from there emerges a new Gestalt caused by some new need. This cycle of opening and closing Gestalts (or Gestalten, in German) is a permanent process, one that occurs throughout our existence.
Gestalt Therapy is developed under a holistic approach. In Gestalt it is said, “the whole is more than the sum of the parts”. Everything exists and acquires a meaning inside a specific context; nothing exists by itself, isolated.
Essentially, Gestalt Therapy opens to our patients a new way of living life, with their feet firmly on the ground. It does not aim to guide the individual by the way of the esoteric or the illumination. It is a way of becoming full, free and open in this world; accepting and taking responsibility for what we are, without using more resources than perceive the obvious, what it IS.
Gestalt therapy means:
- To live in the moment.
- To live in here.
- Quit imagining and fantasizing in excess, substituting the real contact.
- Quit thinking needlessly, substituting action.
- Quit appearing or playing “as if”.
- Express or communicate.
- Feeling unpleasantness and pain.
- Do not accept any “I should”, unless they’re inflicted by oneself based on our needs and experiences.
- Take full responsibility for one’s actions, feelings, emotions and thoughts.
- Be what you are… no matter what you are.
Experiential therapy
This therapeutic guidance, in which movement of our body is vital, helps people to experiment facts and situations which have been a burden for most of their lives, without solving them and instead adding layers of problems, this way not facing them or solving them. It uses processes like guided imagery, projections and use of attempts and scripts as a support.
In INTEGRAL WELLNESS PROGRAMS we integrate this mode as one of the significant supports to help our patients in the process of problem solving, since the mental, physical and emotional expression of the inner person is assisted in breaking the blockage and revealing hidden processes in the emotional, spiritual, behavioral and affective life of the people.
Loss and grief
The recovery from addictions and other self-destructive conducts, involves recognizing that a person can be afflicted, feeling depressed, sad and suffering sorrow; this is the process by which every human adjust to loss and change.
In INTEGRAL WELLNESS PROGRAMS we guide our patients in the process of resolution and acceptance of the loss and in the decrease of depressive, self-destructive, and self-exclusion episodes. Drug use, maladaptive behavior and family conflict, among other processes, inhibit contact and emotion expression, such as pain, sadness, sorrow and grief. Thus, that energy needs to be freed from our lives, resulting in our ability to express our love, affection y appreciation, as well as our grief and sorrow.
Our personnel, in a kind and professional way, guide our patients very carefully and with respect in solving their losses and griefs, either in individual, couples, group or family sessions, depending on each case.
Nutrition
At INTEGRAL WELLNESS PROGRAMS we know that people who are not in treatment tend to bad eating habits.
A healthy nutritional plan allows our patients to develop their physical potential, clearing their thoughts to help them emerge rapidly and sharply, and getting the energy to work effectively. Carbs are used as the main source of energy. If you do not eat enough carbohydrates, you will not be able to provide the fuel needed by your brain to help you think clearly.
Proteins are needed to repair any damage that your body might have suffered. Fats are important to physically perceive the sensation of being satisfied after eating and also are required for the brain’s proper operation. Fiber allows bowel movement and enzyme production.
